Schwartz Moves Up

Cary Katz min-raises to 4,000 in early position, finding calls from Noah Schwartz, Talal Shakerchi (button), Scott Henry (small blind), and Larry Greenberg (big blind).

The five men take a A87 flop, and Schwartz is the first to bet at it, sliding out 9,500. Only Shakerchi and Greenberg call, and it’s three-handed to the turn.

It’s the Q, and Schwartz bets 24,000. Call-call again.

The river is the 8, and the three men check it down.

“I got counterfeited,” Schwartz laments as he flips his A7 onto the felt. The bad news soon turns good, though, as both opponents muck, and the pot is pushed to Schwartz’s corner.
