Welcome to Day 3 coverage of the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic.
Of the 586 entries, only 207 players remain with hopes of getting their name engraved on the WPT Champions Cup, as well as capturing the first-place prize of $1,477,890.
On top of the chip counts entering Day 3 is Iulian Iacob with 288,700. He is followed by Larry Greenberg (282,000), Farshad Fardad (261,900), Chane Kampanatsanyakorn (230,800) and rounding out the top five is none other than Champions Club member Daniel Negreanu (224,600).
The plan for Day 3 is to play another five 90-minute levels, which should whittle the field down to less than 100 players. Only 54 will make the money, which we should reach tomorrow, so today is criticial for players to position themselves for a cash on one of the WPT’s most prestigous stops.
Play will begin at noon local time, about half an hour from now, so be sure to keep it here throughout the day for live updates on all of the exciting action!
