A player raises UTG+1 to 1,000, Nipun Java reraises from middle position to 2,100, and the hijack calls. Travell Thomas moves all in from the button for 18,800, and the UTG+1 player folds. Java calls, and the hijack asks for exact counts and goes into the tank.
While the hijack is tanking, Thomas calls over to DJ Mackinnon at the next table and asks him to stand behind him for a lucky sweat. (This is something that Thomas has done before — for some reason he thinks Mackinnon is lucky for him.)
Eventually, the hijack folds, and Java turns over KK. Thomas winces and shows his AK. Thomas receives more bad news when the hijack claims he folded ace-king as well.
The board comes QJ224 — Thomas flops a gutshot straight draw, but improves no further. Java wins the pot to eliminate Thomas, who says, “I’ll be right back,” implying he plans to immediately re-enter.
Nipun Java – 41,000 (102 bb)
Travell Thomas – Eliminated (Soon to be 30,000)
