Jean-Pierre Sevigny

Hand #14  –  Jerry Payne raises from middle position to 105,000, James Gilbert calls from the cutoff, Jean Gaspard calls from the button, Jean-Pierre Sevigny (pictured) calls from the small blind, and Thomas Campbell calls from the big blind.

The flop comes Spade 10Spade 9Club 4, and Sevigny moves all in for 315,000. Campbell folds, Payne calls, Gilbert calls, and Gaspard folds. Any further betting will create a side pot between Payne and Gilbert.

The turn is the Spade K, and both players check. The river is the Diamond 8, and they check again.

Gilbert shows Spade ADiamond 10 for a pair of tens, but Payne turns over Heart QClub Q for an overpair. Sevigny mucks, but since it’s an all-in situation, the dealer reveals his cards — Diamond 9Heart 7 (pair of nines). Payne wins the pot, eliminating Jean-Pierre Sevigny in 10th place.
