Anish Mistry has done what 2,133 players couldn’t do last year in the WPT500 – bust Eleanor Gudger. Mistry raised an opening bet of 400 to 1600 pre-flop, which Eleanor re-raised to 5,000. Only Mistry called.
On a flop of , Gudger bet another 5k, which Mistry called. Both players checked the turn of but on the river Gudger led for 8,000 chips. Mistry raised all-in over the top and had Gudger covered, so that when she called and saw his hand of , she was out of the tournament.
She’ll still have an opportunity to reclaim her crown with other Day 1 flights still left to enter, the soonest being Day 1b, which kicks off at 5pm.
