A player in middle position opens the action with a raise to 6,000 and Tristan Wade flats on his left. Darrel Dier three-bets from the button to 21,500. Action folds back around to Wade who announces all in, putting Dier at risk for his last 95,400.
Dier goes into the tank for nearly two minutes, just shaking his head and counting down his stack.
“You have 74,000 behind, average is 78,000,” jokes Wade as he waits for Dier’s decision. Another 30 seconds pass before Dier slides forward a pile of chips, signifying a call.
Wade tables and Dier shakes his head as he flips over .
“Really bad call, I know,” comments Dier. “I always talk myself into these corners and make these calls,” he continues as both players watch in anticipation as the biggest pot of the tournament is underway.
The dealer spreads a flop of and Wade remains ahead. The hits the turn and Dier takes the lead, but Wade picks up a flush draw as well as a gut-shot straight draw. The would provide no help to Wade on the river and Dier scoops the massive pot.
