Hands #61- #65: Cruz Levels It Up Then Snatches Lead!

Nov 6, 2016

Hand #61: Luis Cruz raised to 250,000 with Spade 8Club 7 from the button, with Yong three-betting to 750,000 with Diamond KSpade Q to take it down.

Hand #62: Action limped to a flop of Diamond 3Diamond 9Club A, which both players checked. The turn of Club Q didn’t hit either player’s hand, but a bet of 300,00 from Yong took it down.

Hand #63: Cruz raised with Diamond QClub 10X X to 250,000. Yong called with Diamond 7Club 5 and they went to a flop of Club 6Heart 3Spade K. Yong checked, but Cruz bet 300,000. Yong called. The turn of Heart 6 actually helped neither man, and Yong checked, so too did Cruz. The river of Spade A saw Yong bet 850,000. Cruz called! A terrific call from the Spaniard and he has levelled things up in this heads-up battle. £77,000 difference between prizes now neatly represents almost exactly the number of big blinds (78) the men have each.

Hand #64: Cruz and Yong limped to a flop, with Club 10Spade 3 for Yong and Heart 9Diamond 2 for Cruz.  The flop of Diamond JDiamond 3Spade 7 was checked ch2 turn 4h ch2 river ah Cruz grabs the lead.

Hand #65: Cruz raised to 300,00 with Spade QDiamond 9 and Yong called with Heart KHeart 7. The flop of Spade 7Spade QHeart 10 had something for both men, and Cruz bet when checked to, making it 400,000 more, which Yong called. The turn Spade 8 saw both men check, before the river of X X5s[/p]c saw Cruz bet and immediately get a fold. With blinds now up, Cruz has 70BB to Yong’s 59 blinds. Has momentum completely switched heads-up?  A memorable call with queen-high was so vital for Cruz.
