Wedding vows often include the phrase “For better, for worse; for richer, for poorer,” but I don’t think any vows allow for husband and wife teams making deep runs in Main Events together.
Earlier in the Main Event Fabrice Soulier told us how both he and his wife Claire (pictured above) satellited into the Main Event together. Now with just under 50 players left, they are seated at neighbouring tables and we caught up with Claire for a few words.
“I don’t get to play a lot,” said Renaut, whose last Hendon Mob cash came in the EPT Monte Carlo 2016 Women’s Event where she finished 10th.
“We have a three-year-old daughter together, and with Fabrice on the circuit we don’t play together.
“But today is different, today we can play together just the two of us!”
We asked Renaut whether her husband was asking her for tips, or, considering she came into the day with mroe chips, whether it was the other way around.
“We’re not asking each other for anything,” she laughed, “Just luck!”
