During the break we caught up with start-of-day chip leader Ludovic Moryousef. He explained, in French that coming into the day with a big stack doesn’t always help if you get caught up in a big pot early on!

“I started the day with a big stack, but a difficult table with Johan Guilbert on my right who was very active. It was very difficult. I made a bad call in the third minute! I had two pair and Guilbert had a set.

“I now have 310,000 but the table is ok.”

We asked Moryousef whether the fact that play was now in the money meant anything to him.

“I’m just going to play my normal poker. The money is important to me, but it’s the personal satisfaction more than anything. I play because I love it.”

The Casino de Marrakech is still packed with players in the side events, in addition to the 39 remaining in the Main Event. Moryousef says that it’s a great venue.

“It’s a lovely venue. Sunny and that’s always good when you come somewhere to play poker.”
