Gaurav Raina Doubles Thru Tri Van Tran

Justin Fawcett raises from the hijack to 16,000, reigning WPT Tournament of Champions winner Daniel Weinman calls from the cutoff, Tri Van Tran calls from the button, and Gaurav Raina (pictured) calls from the big blind.

All four players check to the turn on a board of Heart JHeart 7Heart 4Spade 10, and Raina bets 37,000. Fawcett calls, Weinman folds, and Van Tran moves all in. Raina calls all in for 167,000, and Fawcett folds Diamond 10Diamond 7 face up — two pair.

Van Tran shows Diamond 9Diamond 8 for a jack-high straight, but he’s drawing dead against Raina’s Heart KHeart 9 — a king-high flush.

The meaningless river card pairs the board with the Club 10, which would have been very meaningful if Fawcett had called. (He would have rivered a full house.) But as it stands, Raina wins the pot with his heart flush to double up in chips.

Gaurav Raina  –  445,000  (56 bb)
Tri Van Tran  –  295,000  (37 bb)
