With seven players remaining at the start of the day, just three remain with Carter Gent (375,000) having the most chips after a great run of cards.
“The deck hit me in the face!” said Gent when we spoke to him. “I had Ace-King against Jacks. I flopped top pair, but my opponent turned a set. I was going to be out but I made a straight on the river to double up.
“I then had Kings against Ace-Jack, and then I won with Aces! I’ve picked up a few pots since then!”
Dickson Kesler (185,000) and Thomas Grace (120,000) are the other two DraftKings qualifiers still in on Day 2 of the WPT European Championship €3,300 Main Event.
“Obviously players who qualify through DraftKings are not professional poker players,” said Director of VIP Experience Jon Aguiar. “However, that being said, in the same way that poker players adapt to play Daily Fantasy Sports, these guys can adapt to play poker.
“These guys have had pretty cool heads throughout and it seems like the stress isn’t getting to them too much. I’m hoping to see them make some deep runs and maybe even make it to the final table!”
