Borgata Ladies Champion Alida Veliu Knocks Out a Player to Reach 97K

Last night, Alida Veliu won the Borgata Winter Poker Open Ladies Event, outlasting a field of 154 entries to win $3,325. Amazingly, Veliu’s sister, Kujdes Gagliardi, outlasted a field of 126 entries to win last night’s Charity Series of Poker (CSOP), which awarded a $3,500 seat into the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open.

It’s likely the first time in poker history that two sisters have won tournaments on the same day at the same casino.

Veliu is off to a great start here on Day 1A. She’s already had pocket kings twice, and most recently she flopped a set of kings to knock out a player and near the 100K mark.
