Richard Munro Doubles Thru Hakan Demircioglu

Sep 18, 2014

Richard Munro

Richard Munro raises from early position to 60,000 and Hakan Demircioglu calls out of the blinds. The flop comes [QcJc9h] and Demircioglu checks. Munro bets 75,000 and Demircioglu calls.

The turn brings the [10s]. Demircioglu checks a second time. Munro bets 140,000, then Demircioglu check-raises all-in, having Munro’s 940,000-chip stack covered.

Munro takes a little bit of time before calling with [KdJh]. As he turns over his cards, he asks, "You have ace-king, don’t you?"

"Good call," Demircioglu replies as he turns over [AcJs] for a pair of jacks with a gutshot straight draw.

The river pairs the board with the [Qs] and Munro scores a huge double up.

As Munro rakes in the pot, Demircioglu says something to the effect of questioning Munro’s call if he believed he had ace-king. Munro asks to no one in particular if it was a mistake, and Ory Hen and Erik Cajelais, who are also at the table, very quickly insist that, no, Munro was very much in the right to call.

Richard Munro – 2,150,000 (90 bb)
Hakan Demircioglu – 320,000 (13 bb)
