Shawn Cunix recently realized that the televised WPT Final Table for this event will be played on April 1st, which falls right in the middle of a family vacation he has had planned for a while. He’s concerned that he won’t be able to make the final table, or that he might have to miss a lot of the family vacation. He jokes with his table about playing so aggressively that he’ll have to win the tournament tomorrow so there won’t even be a final table.
A short while later, with the final board showing on the river and about 350K already in the pot, Shawn Cunix moves all in from the big blind for about 490,000, covering Queen’s stack by about 40K.
Queen uses three Time Chips to tank for nearly two minutes before he calls all in for 450,000 with for a rivered full house, kings full of aces. Cunix mucks, and Queen wins the pot.

The next hand, Galen Hall raises from the hijack to 16,000, Cunix calls from the small blind, and Stephen Song calls from the big blind.
The flop comes , and Cunix moves all in for about 20,000. Song folds, and Hall quickly calls with for a pair of tens.
Cunix turns over for a pair of kings, and he needs his hand to hold to stay alive.
The turn card pairs the board with the , the river card double-pairs the board with the , and Hall wins the pot with a full house, tens full of sevens, to eliminate Cunix in 107th place.

As he walks away, Cunix says, “I got tilted when I learned the final table was on April 1st.”
