Rjdykeman Catches Trips on the Turn to Double Thru WPT Champion Roy Winston

Shortly before the break, WPT Champions Club member Roy Winston (“RoyWinston”) raised UTG+1 to 200,000, and Rjdykeman called from the small blind.

The flop came , Rjdykeman checked, Winston bet 427,500, and Rjdykeman check-raised all in for 1,308,688.

Winston called with , and his overpair was ahead of Rjdykeman’s (pair of jacks).

But the turn card paired the board with the , giving Rjdykeman the lead with trip jacks. The river card was the , and Rjdykeman won the pot with his trip jacks to double up to nearly 3.2 million in chips.

If Winston’s queens had held, he would have been just outside the top 10 at the break with more than 7.2 million in chips. Instead he drops to about 4 million.
