There were just two women left in the field when play began for today’s Day 3, and now one has eliminated the other to assume the chip lead.
The hand begins with Margo Costa raising to 25,000 from the button, with both Matthew Oswalt (small blind) and Jacquelyn Scott (big blind) calling the raise. The flop comes [Qh][Jd][7c] and it checks to Costa who bets 30,000. Oswalt folds and Scott calls.
The turn brings the [Jh] and Scott checks. Costa bets 50,000 and Scott calls.
The river is the [Kd]. This time Scott pushes all in for about 345,000 total, and after thinking for just a few seconds, Costa finds the call.
Scott turns over [Kh][Th] for kings and jacks, but Costa has [Ah][Js] for trip jacks and Scott is out. Meanwhile that hand pushes Costa just over the 1 million-chip mark, making her the first player to reach that milestone in the tournament.
Margo Costa – 1,010,000
Jacquelyn Scott – Eliminated
