James Bamar Eliminated by Michael Landress

Feb 9, 2014

After a flop of [10c9s4d], James Bamar is all in with [QsJs] (open-ended straight draw) against the [4c4s] (set of fours) of Michael Landress, sitting on opposite ends of the table.

The turn card is the [Kc], giving Bamar a king-high straight, but the river card pairs the board with the [10s] to give Landress a full house, fours full of tens. Landress wins the pot to eliminate Bamar from the tournament.

When the river card hit, a couple of players at the table reacted to the reverse-suckout, and Landress got out of his chair to take a closer look at the board, seemingly confused.

Tony Cousineau, sitting next to Landress, points out to the table that Landress thought he led the entire way, which is why he was confused by the reaction. Landress said, "His cards were so far away, I couldn’t see them."
