James Calderaro limps for 50,000, Nabil Hirezi raises to 150,000, and Calderaro reraises to 550,000.
Hirezi moves all in, and Calderaro snap-calls all in for 3,395,000 with [AcKd]. Hirezi turns over [10c10d], and Calderaro needs to improve to stay alive.
The flop comes [Kh6h5h], and Calderaro takes the lead with a pair of kings.
The turn is the [Qh], putting four hearts on the board for a possible chopped pot. (Neither player has a heart.)
The river card is — the [10s]! Hirezi catches his one out in the deck that would win him the pot — and the WPT title.
James Calderaro finishes as the runner-up, earning $133,764. He comes just short of his second WPT title, and this is now his third top-two finish on the World Poker Tour.
Nabil Hirezi wins the WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open, earning $206,041, and a WPT Champions Trophy. Hirezi’s prize money includes a $15,400 seat into the season-ending WPT World Championship next month in Atlantic City, and his name will be inscribed on the one-and-only WPT Champions Cup that travels with the tour.
