Jeffrey Rossiter has just eliminated Jerome Brion to join Dan O’Brien at the top of the chip counts. There was a raise to 600 from first position, Rossiter cunningly called in the cutoff, Brion three-bet to 2,400, the original raiser folded and Rossiter four-bet to 5,325. Brion didn’t waste anytime in shoving and Rossiter was right behind him with chips in hand.
Showdown
Rossiter: [Ah] [Ad]
Brion: [As] [Kd]
The flop was fairly harmless – [3h] [3s] [2s] – but the turn [5s] produced the spade sweat for our man from Oz. One more card to come and it was the [Qc]; the right colour, but wrong suit, and Rossiter was up to around 95,000 chips.
