Hand #78: Tyler Patterson Doubles Thru & Cripples Jeff Williams with A-Q vs. A-Q

Sep 20, 2012

Hand #78  –  Tyler Patterson raises from the button to 225,000, Jeff Williams moves all in from the small blind, and Patterson calls with [AcQs]. Williams turns over [AsQd], and they have the same hand and nearly identical stacks. Unless somebody makes a flush, it’ll be a chopped pot.

The flop comes [9c5c2h], and Patterson picks up a runner-runner club flush draw. The turn card is the [Qc], and Patterson has a chance to crack the chop.

The river card is — the [8c]. The other players react to the bad beat as Tyler Patterson makes an ace-high club flush to win the pot.

Their chip stacks are counted down, and Patterson has 2,475,000. Williams barely covers him with 2,575,000. Patterson is crippled down to a single big blind.

Tyler Patterson  –  5,090,000  (50 bb)
Jeff Williams  –  100,000  (1 bb)
