It took until the early hours of the morning, but Day 1B has finally ended with 48 players surviving to Day 2 and making the money.
Ahmad Jan Niazi ended up as the overwhelming chip leader with 1,190,000. Niazi nearly tripled up earlier in the day when his flopped straight held on against an opponent’s nut flush draw in a three-way all in. He then made a straight flush to bust Hendrik van Dam and eliminated David Uvaydov on the money bubble to bring the night to an end.
Day 1B saw a total of 385 entries crowd the poker room at the Holland Casino. They joined with the 276 entries on Day 1A to create a total field of 661 through two starting flights, with 83 players booking their ticket to Day 2 so far. There is still Day 1C on Wednesday, March 20 at 12:30 p.m. and a turbo Day 1D flight with 20-minute levels beginning at 7 p.m. All surviving players from the four Day 1 flights return for Day 2 on Thursday, March 21 at 12:30 p.m.
Day 1B ended with 23 minutes remaining in Level 18. Blinds will revert back to 3,000-6,000, the level that Day 1A finished on, unless one of the two flights tomorrow ends earlier.
Stay tuned as WPT.com returns tomorrow for another opening flight of the Season 2024 WPT Prime Amsterdam Championship.
