Day 1A Ends with Donald Nicholson in Lead (355,100)

Day 1A at the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown $5,000 main event attracted a total of 205 players on Thursday in South Florida. There were approximately 75 players remaining by the end of the night and Donald Nicholson was the chip leader with 355,100. He is joined at the top of the standings by Danny Shiff (229, 200), Ben Tarzia (213,100), John McEwen (184,600), and ClubWPT Player of the Day Faraz Jaka (181,900).

Notables that were eliminated on Day 1A included Noah Schwartz, Paul Volpe, Matt Salsberg, Darryll Fish, David Sands, Jonathan Aguiar, Harrison Gimbel, Dan O’Brien, Carlos Mortensen, Christian Harder, Shaun Deeb, Steve Brecher, Scotty Nguyen, Will Failla, ClubWPT Qualifier Carl Hutchins, and defending WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown champion Tommy Vedes. They will all have a chance to re-enter tomorrow on Day 1B (and many of the pros eliminated on Day 1A acknowledged that they would try their luck again tomorrow).
