Dongwoo Ko opens to 225,000 from the cutoff and then Dan Stavila announces a raise to 900,000 from the button. Tamer Alkamli then three-bets to 1,600,000 from the small blind, covering Stavila who only has a few chips behind.

Ko quickly gets out of the way and Stavila goes into the tank, using his last remaining time bank. As his timer neared zero, he splashed in the last of his chips, putting his tournament life on the line.

Stavila needs to improve to stay alive in this flip, and he sure gets it as the flop comes out Club 9Spade ADiamond 5 to provide him with a much-needed ace. The deck gifts him with another Diamond A on the turn but the best card is the blank Club Q on the river to secure him the double.

Tamer Alkamli – 3,775,000 (38 bb)
