Ramin Malekian opens to 80,000 from the cutoff, Erico Iervasi calls in the small blind and Dominik Ostrowski defends his big blind. The dealer spreads on the flop and Iervasi leads for monstrous 500,000.
Ostrowski ducks out, leaving just Malekian who instantly rips in 2,400,000. Iervasi hits the tank but in the end, he calls his 1,740,000 into the middle and tables for just king high.
Malekian slams over for the nuts in what is looking like a chip lead pot. An turn leaves Iervasi with one last chance for romance and lady luck shows up on the river.
“Really great play you made there” says Malekian as he slides over the better part of his stack in what looks like the worst bad beat of Day 2. Iervasi now sits on top of the field thanks to a fortuitous river.
Erico Iervasi – 4,700,000 (94 bb)
Ramin Malekian – 1,280,000 (26 bb)
