We reported before dinner than Erion Islamay was playing every single hand. To be fair to the young lad, he was winning most of them as well, and headed to the dinner break with over 150,000 more than his nearest rival.
Boy has that just changed!
Islamay opens from early position, Robert Begni flats in the hijack as does Mike Sexton in the big blind.
Flop: [8d] [6d] [4c]
Sexton checks, Islamay bets 41,000, Begni folds, Sexton check-raises to 115,000 and Islamay moves all-in and has Sexton covered.
A huge smile breaks out on the face of Sexton. The type of what the hell is going on smile you see from time to time.
"Wow! I am probably going to wish I never got involved with this hand," said Sexton, " I don’t think I can lay it down."
With that Sexton calls and shows [6h] [4d] for the big blind special. Islamay shows [7c] [6c] for the semi-bluff.
The dealer puts the [2d] out there followed by the [7d]. For a moment everyone thinks that Islamay has rivered a better two pair. Everyone that is except Sexton. He’s the coolest cat in the house and just points calmly at the [4d] for the diamond flush. Meanwhile, Islamay has turned 50 shades of red.
Sexton ~ 1,300,000
Islamay ~ 137,000
