Paul Runcan
The third out of five starting days in the 2024 WPT Prime Paris €1,100 Championship saw the strongest turnout thus far with 295 entries total, which boosts the overall attendance to 738 entries with two further flights to follow on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
A new chip leader was crowned in the Club Circus Paris as Paul Runcan soared way ahead of the competition. Close to the bubble on Day 1b, Runcan was eliminated in a massive pot against Etienne Silva de Oliveira and came back with a vengeance. After becoming a big stack following the dinner break, Runcan promised to make it through with the chip lead and did so in scintillating fashion.
The Romania-born bagged up an incredible 2,250,000 – forty-five times the starting stack – which is well ahead Karim Alleg (1,346,000) and Giuseppe Zarbo (1,081,000) as the only two players with a seven-figure stack tonight.
Among the 37 survivors are also Florence Allera (718,000), Stephen Song (446,000), Sandrine Zeitoun, Julien Martini (67,000), as well as Japan’s Ayana Taniguchi (53,000).
