Tom Marchese and Marko Trapani Jr. get it all-in preflop in a gigantic pot worth over 225,000. Marchese is out front with [QhQc] and Trapani is in bad shape with [AhQd].
The [Jh3s2s] flop keeps Marchese out front, but the [Ad] on the turn pairs up Trapani to give him the advantage in the hand. Trapani lets out a celebratory yell, but his brother Chris, who is watching fromthe rail, reminds him, "It’s not over yet."
The riiver brings the [3c] and Chris Trapani runs over to congratulate his brother at the massive double up. Trapani points towards the ceiling at the window overlooking the tournament area. The window is part of what was once Marko Trapani Sr’s office, Marko and Chris’ father.
The elder Trapani, who was the originator of this Shooting Star tournament, passed away in June of 2010. Last year, Chris made a run in this tournament and also gestured at that window when he took down big pots.
It looks like the Trapani’s run of success might continue this year as well, as Marko Trapani Jr is now well above average with almost a quarter million chips.
Marko Trapani Jr – 240,000
Tom Marchese – 125,000
