As reigning Borgata Poker Open Champ Dwyte Pilgrim tells it, he had a rough Day 1A at the tables, but he still felt he was playing, "first rate." He is back at it again today at a table alongside the likes of Dan O’Brien and Eric Ladny.
Ladny, Pilgrim, and one other player see a flop of [Qc10c2h]. Pilgrim checks out of the big blind and Ladny bets 1,000 into the 1,275-chip pot from middle position. The player in the hijack folds, and Pilgrim check-raises to 3,300 total. Ladny deliberates a minute, then calls.
The turn brings the [3c] and Pilgrim bets 5,300. Ladny calls. The river is the [9s] and Pilgrim opts to check. Ladny checks behind and Pilgrim doesn’t even wait to see Ladny turn over [KdKc] before mucking his hand.
Eric Ladny – 39,000
Dwyte Pilgrim – 18,500
