After the elimination of Paul Newey, that left Michael Singh (pictured above) as the last amateur standing in his high-stakes Alpha8 event. Unfortunately for Singh, his reign would not last long.
At the secondary table, Singh and Timothy Adams see a flop of [8x8d2d], and Singh moves his short stack all in.
Adams tanks for a little while before he calls with [10d9d] for a diamond flush draw, and Singh turns over 9-9 for an overpair.
But the turn is the [Qd], giving Adams a flush to take the lead. Singh still has outs to a full house, but the river card is a blank, and he is eliminated in 14th place.
