An interesting hand resulting in a big pot and huge river decision took place over on Table 67 shortly after the bubble burst.
With more than 250,000 in the middle and the board reading [Jd][5h][2d][7c][5d], David Lanthier pushes all in, and Samuel Chartier goes deep into the tank. Lanthier has about 480,000 in his stack — more than the 430,000 Chartier has — and so to call would create the tourney’s biggest pot thus far while also putting Chartier at risk of elimination.
Chartier thinks for five full minutes before Lanthier finally pats the felt to tell the dealer he’s going to have to call the clock. The dealer gives Chartier one more minute to think, counting down the final seconds "sept… six… cinq… quatre… trois… deux… un…."
Time runs out and Chartier’s hand is folded, and Lanthier exhales loudly. He then turns over his hand… [Kc][Qs]!
The table breaks right after the hand is done, with all players still talking about the hand as they move to find their new seats.
David Lanthier – 740,000 (93 bb)
Samuel Chartier – 430,000 (54 bb)
