Chipleader Update: More Movement

Sep 20, 2010

Benjamin Klier is also making a run at the chipleader position. With the board showing [QhJc2c3s] on the turn, his opponent gets it all in with [JdJh] for a set of jacks, only to find Klier holding [QdQs] for a set of queens. Ouch.

The river is the [8d], and Klier wins the pot with his higher set to bust his opponent and increase his stack to 337,000. That seems to be high enough to give Klier the chip lead.

But a few hands later, Klier gets it all in against another player after a flop of [7s6s5s]. Klier turns over [KsKd] for an overpair with a king-high flush draw, while his opponent shows [6h5h] for bottom two pair.

The turn is the [Jd], the river is the [9c], and the two pair holds up to win the pot and knock off a piece of Klier’s chip stack.

While this is happening, the other contenders for the chip lead increased their stacks. Francis Lamothe moved up to 350,000, and Dan Fischer now has 330,000.

Francis Lamothe  –  350,000
Dan Fischer  –  330,000
Benjamin Klier  –  290,000
