With 14,000 already in the pot and the board reading [JdTs2h8h], the player in the small blind bets 6,000 and Soheil Shamseddin has a decision to make.
"I don’t fold this hand that often," Shamseddin tells his opponent. He counts his chips and cuts out 6,000 from his 16,000 chip stack.
"Flop a set? Or do you have nines? I can beat nines," Shamseddin muses as he sizes up his opponent.
"Not nines," the other player replies.
"Not nines? You know what I have," Shamseddin adds more as a statement of fact than a question. Shamseddin counts his stack one more time and takes his hands off his cards.
"That’s a big fold," Shamseddin informs the table. He waits a minute before picking up his hand, flashing the [Ah] and mucking his cards.
