79 Players Advance to Championship Event Day 3 with Baofeng Zhang Holding a Commanding Lead

Day 2 of WPT Main Event saw 228 players take their seats, ready to battle for a spot in the next round of Day 3. Each player brought their best game to the table, displaying resilience and determination in pursuit of the ultimate glory.

Among the standout international players was Joseph Cheong, the 2019 WSOP bracelet winner who has claimed multiple titles this year. Cheong showcased his skill and consistency, finishing with an impressive chip stack of 335,000, securing his place in Day 3.

The most intense moment of the day was undoubtedly the bubble time. With 101 players remaining and only 96 can cash out, the pressure reached its peak. To everyone’s surprise, the bubble burst when five players were eliminated across five dramatic all-ins, drawing applause from the entire room.

96 players who made it into the money, guaranteeing themselves a minimum cash prize of KRW5,000,000. After the bubble burst, the play continued for about 30 minutes, wrapping up Day 2 with Baofeng Zhang dominating the leaderboard with 1,520,000 chips, leading the 79 survivors into Day 3. Among them is Valeriy Pak, the runner-up of WPT Korea 2023, who looks determined to go all the way this time.
