A Hand of Utmost Gravity

“I’ve come all the way from England to be here.”

So says Sam Grafton to Ronald Sims. The pair have been trading preflop bets and as we arrive Sims has 22,500 worth of chips in front of him while Grafton has about 70,000 pushed forward and the “ALL IN” circle resting nearby.

Grafton is building an argument regarding his hand — that he doesn’t make the all-in shove “lightly.”

“I’m heavy,” explains Grafton. “I’m on that weighty, weighty part of my range.”

“I’m weighty, too,” grins Sims as he considers further. Grafton continues to make his case, earning chuckles from the table as Sims also continues to smile.

At last Grafton earns a fold from Sims as well. “Thank you, sir!” says Grafton in response, who is still below the average, though he’s less light than before.
