A Relaxed Atmosphere on Day 1B of the Main Event

The tournament clock just ticked over to 100 entrants today alone, and there really is a relaxed atmosphere here in the Holland Casino as Day 1B continues. Triple Crown winner Jake Cody is having a massage, Chris Moneymaker is deep in concentration reading a book, and Juha Helppi is sweating his sports bets.

“I need Atletico to win,” said the former WPT Champion, “They don’t need to qualify, just win.”

As he says so, Atletico are awarded a penalty, which they score to go 2-0 up. Things got even more relaxed in Helppi’s corner of the room.

Earlier in the week, as part of our WPTDeepStacks coverage we spoke to Scott Davies who told us he was planning to visit the Keukenhof Gardens, one of the largest flower gardens in the world, and whilst railing her husband, Davies’ wife filled us in on how the trip was.

“It was great! There were just so many tulips! It was amazing. It was really well laid out; you can just walk around for two hours.”
