Action Table Late on Day 1b

There’s always one table in the tournament that is considered by players and spectators alike to be the ‘Action Table’ and this one was no exception.

Brazilian Champions Club member Alexandre Gomes raised to 4,000 from under the gun. Samir Akhoullou and Isabel Baltazar called before Gert-Jan Kars three-bet to 16,000 from the small blind. Gomes and Akhoullou called and Baltazar folded.

The flop came . It checked to Kars who continued for 18,500. Gomes got out of the way and Akhoullou check-raised all in for 64,200. Kars quickly folded.

In the very next hand it was Younes El Boudjaini’s turn to raise from early position to 5,000, getting four callers. The flop came . El Boudjaini continued for 6,500 and Kars called. The turn and river were both checked and El Boudjaini won with for a full hosue against the of Kars.

Gomes is the chip leader at this table with 154,000, slightly ahead of Akhoullou with 137,000.
