While the table is still buzzing about the dramatic elimination of Shannon Shorr, where David Gerassi cracked pocket kings with jack-eight suited, Gerassi is starting to build a good-sized pot in a hand against Anthony Newman.
With the board showing on the turn, Gerassi bets 200,000, Newman moves all in for about 400,000, and Gerassi calls with for two pair, kings and sevens.
But Newman turns over for the nuts — an ace-high flush. Newman needs his hand to hold to stay alive, and if he wins this pot, he’ll become the new chip leader.

The entire table reacts loudly to the river card as Gerassi wins the pot with a full house, kings full of sevens, to eliminate Newman from the tournament. Newman asks the dealer to pause for a moment before pulling in the cards so Newman can take a photo, undoubtedly as evidence to show that he got it in with the nuts, one card away from becoming chipleader in the WPT Borgata Poker Open as the field approaches the Money Bubble.
