An exciting day’s play is in store here at Casino Vilamoura with 65 players left from a starting field of 250. There are a whole host of names set to battle it out for a chance at a share of nearly €250,000 in prize money.
Leading the way is WPTDeepStacks Cannes Main Event runner-up Omar Lakhdari with 345,200. Lakhdari is well-placed to make a run at the overall WPTDS season leaderboard, and another deep run here would suit him nicely, with events in Marrakech, Valkenberg and Brussels, as well as many more, still to come.
Second in chips is Day 1A chip leader Manuela Serralheiro. Serralheiro will be joined in Day 2 by her husband Jose, and we will be hoping to catch up with the two of them later on.
However, the main attraction in Day 2 has to be three-time WPT Main Event winner Anthony Zinno, who doubled up late on Day 1B and added some more chips to his stack as the day drew to a close to bag up third in chips ahead of Day 2.
The day gets underway at 2 p.m. local time, with the levels now 60 minutes long. The plan is to play until we reach a final table, but should that change we will let you know as soon as we are informed.
The money will also be reached today. Stay tuned for all the information for exactly how many places will be paid as we count down to the business end of the third WPTDeepStacks Main Event of this its inaugural season.
