Bart Fergiatakis Folds Aces...But Was He Right?

May 9, 2017

Three players saw a Heart 7Club 9Heart 6 flop. Lester Rietveld checked to a player in middle position who bet 3,200. Bart Fergiatakis was in the next position and raised to 8,000.

Rietveld then three-bet all in for 31,625. The first player folded and Fergiatakis went into the tank as his opponent sat at the end of the table, and buried his head in his hands and stared down at his lap.

Tablemate Jack Salter laughed and motioned to steal a glimpse at Rietveld’s cards.

“You could switch cards and he wouldn’t see!” said Salter, and Fergiatakis laughed before continuing to agonise over his decision.

Eventually Fergiatakis folded Heart ASpade A face up for the table to see. Rietveld’s head jerked up.

“Wow,” he said, “You folded that?” The third player at the table also said that he allegedly folded Heart KHeart 8.

“What! Give the man [Rietveld] some action!” said Salter.
