There are a series of preflop bets and raises that result in Moon Kim (left) making it an additional 110,000 to play. John Esposito (right) is the other player in the hand and thinks a while before making it an additional 150,000 to play, leaving roughly the same amount behind.
Kim isn’t sure how much Esposito has left and asks for a count of his remaining chips. Esposito asks if he has to divulge that information and a tournament director is paged to the table.
Esposito is informed that he is obliged to count his chips and, if he refuses, the dealer will do so for him. Esposito counts down his stack and he has just over 170,000 behind.
Kim continues to think as the level starts winding down. Esposito decides he has had enough.
"Alright," Esposito announces. "Put a clock on this guy. He asked me my chips, I gave him an exact count, now I want to put a clock on this guy."
The tournament director returns to the table and starts to count Kim down. Kim uses about half of his remaining minute before folding.
John Esposito – 600,000 (100 BBs)
Moon Kim – 370,000 (61 BBs)
