Matthew Burnitz (right) finished as the runner-up in the WPT Borgata Poker Open four months ago, earning $488,850 but falling short of the title.
Today, Burnitz has had his ups and downs. Three levels ago, he shoved all in against Anthony Maio and ran into quad sevens. That knocked Burnitz’s stack down below average.
Now, three levels later, Burnitz is at the top of the leaderboard with 355,000 in chips. It’s proof that run-bad, like run-good, can be fleeting.
As a bonus, Burnitz is seated next to lovely local Marguerite Spagnuolo.
