Chance Kornuth Trips Up Ryan Julius

With the board reading QT44, Ryan Julius checks from the big blind and Chance Kornuth bets 3,700 from under-the-gun. Scott Baumstein calls from the cutoff and Ryan Julius check-calls.

The dealer peels off the 2 on the river. Julius checks again and Kornuth fires 12,100. Baumstein sat motionless while going into the tank for several minutes before folding and Julius quickly calls.

Kornuth tables J4 and Julius mucks his hand. There is a little banter between Baumstein and Kornuth about what Julius called with.

“He had a four obviously, he snapped me,” said Kornuth. “At least I think so.”

“I think he was slowplaying two kings,” said Baumstein. “You play PLO, you know there aren’t many fours left in the deck.”

Julius doesn’t interject and Kornuth rakes the pot and stacks the chips.
