Chris "Jesus" Ferguson Arrives, Then Busts

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson took advantage of late registration, and joined another stacked table:

Ferguson had been playing less than 15 minutes when Tommy Vedes raises from late position to 2,500, the cutoff calls, and Ferguson reraises from the big blind to 11,000. Vedes calls, and the cutoff folds. 

The flop comes 7-6-3 rainbow, Ferguson bets about 16,000, and Vedes moves all in, easily covering Ferguson’s starting stack. Ferguson tanks for a little while before he calls with K-K for an over pair. Vedes shows [9h8h] for an open-ended straight draw, and Ferguson is a favorite to double up here.

The turn is an A, but the [5h] on the river completes the nine-high straight for Vedes to win the pot. Ferguson is eliminated from the tournament.

As he gets up to leave, Ferguson says, "Why couldn’t my flight be delayed?"
