Chris Moorman Flops Two Pair on Carl Shaw; Shaw Bounces Back

Dec 20, 2023

Carl Shaw opens to 1,600,000 from UTG with Heart 9Spade 9 and Chris Moorman defends from the big blind with Club QClub 5. The flop comes out gin for Moorman as he makes two pair and he checks over to Shaw who bets 2,000,000. Moorman then puts in a check-raise to 5,200,000 and after some thought, Shaw puts in calling chips.

On the turn Club J, Moorman leads for 5,400,000 and Shaw again calls, drawing only to a nine.

The river is the brick Diamond 4 and Moorman pulls the trigger by moving all in for 9,900,000. Shaw thinks hard about this one, using one of his time banks, and ultimately makes the right decision by letting it go and Moorman is awarded the pot for a nice pickup.

The very next hand, Carl Shaw moves all in for his remaining 13,500,000 with Diamond ASpade 8 and is called by Jason Min with Club 5Diamond 5 to put him at risk.

The board runs out Heart ADiamond 4Spade QDiamond 9Spade 2 to give Shaw an ace on the flop to win the pot for a double to bounce right back.

Chris Moorman – 35,500,000 (44 bb)
Carl Shaw – 28,000,000 (35 bb)
Jason Min – 39,000,000 (49 bb)
