Christian Harder Out in 10th Place ($29,668)

Nov 10, 2014

On the very first hand after the redraw to a single 10-handed table, Saied Zamiri opens with a raise to 47,000 from under the gun, then Farhan Madhani reraises to 130,000 from middle position.

It folds to Christian Harder on the button who considers for about a half-minute, then announces he is four-betting all in. Zamiri calls all in with his shorter stack, and Madhani calls as well.

Harder turns over [Qh][Qs], then watches as both of his opponents table pocket aces — [Ah][Ac] for Madhani, and [Ad][As] for Zamiri.

"It’d be good if one of them makes a set," says Jason Helder, sitting on Harder’s right. "It would be good," says Harder with a wry grin. "I’m hoping they do." The prospect of a fifth ace appearing is about as dim as it gets, although a queen or some other favorable combination of community cards for Harder is hardly likely, either.

The board runs out uneventfully, coming [10h][Ks][3c][4s][Kc], and Harder is eliminated in 10th. Zamiri collects some of his chips to sit with about 350,000 at present, while Madhani gets some, too, to push up over 1.8 million.
