ClubWPT Qualifier Rick Savala

Rick Savala earned his entry into the $7,500 buy-in WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star by playing on ClubWPT.com.

Savala is keeping an autographed baseball next to his cards (pictured below), but it’s not signed by any famous baseball players — at least, not yet. It’s signed by his 14-year-old son’s varsity baseball team, and they gave him the ball for good luck in this tournament.

Savala also has two daughters, one of whom also plays on ClubWPT.com.

Now that he’s in his first WPT event, Savala finds himself seated next to one of the most famous poker players in the world, Phil Hellmuth. So far, Savala is holding his own with about 41,000 in chips.
