Craig Bergeron vs. Rhynie Campbell

Apr 18, 2012

Craig Bergeron raises to 350 from under the gun and WPT Champions Club member Rhynie Campbell reraises to 1,025 on the button. Mike Beasley calls from the big blind and Bergeron calls as well.

The flop comes [8s7h3d] and action checks to Campbell, who bets 2,500. Beasley folds and Bergeron check-raises to 7,100 total. Campbell calls and the turn brings the [8d]. Bergeron bets 4,000 and Campbell quickly calls.

The river is the [5s] and Bergeron bets 15,000, which is enough to put Campbell all-in for his last 11,000 or so.  Campbell doesn’t think for more than a few seconds before folding.

As Bergeron folds, he lifts his cards up slightly. Campbell thinks he is showing Beasley his hand and asks to see Bergeron’s cards.

"I saw one," Beasley explains. He pulls out one card and the dealer flips over the [Qc]. Bergeron tries to explain he wasn’t showing, but when Campbell asks about the issue again, Bergeron obliges and turns over his other card–the [Ac].

Bergeron may have had just ace-high, but his bet got Campbell to fold what he claims is a pretty big hand.  "You got me to fold kings," he tells him.

Craig Bergeron – 49,000
Rhynie Campbell – 11,000
