Day 1B at the party poker World Poker Tour Merit Classic North Cyprus, at the Merit Crystal Cove Casino, has come to a close with 98 players advancing to Day 2 from a field of 203 (161 unique and 42 re-entries). That means Day 2 will have 180 players when the action commences at 13:00 (local time) on Sunday.
The chip leader at the end of the play is the man who finished runner-up in this event last year. Albert Daher finishing with 219,200 chips after firing two Day 1B bullets.
Other top stacks included Dmitry Samoylenko (182,700), Sam Trickett (140,000), Marco Tommasino (121,000) and Simon Higgins (103,400). Last years winner Alexey Rybin also made it through to Day 2 with 82,900.

Of the people who failed to get through Day 1B, the most notable are WPT National Marbella winner Steve Watts, and Champions Club member Davidi Kitai.
