Day 1B of the 2020 WPT Philippines Main Event Kicks Off at Noon

As of noon local time, the second starting day of the Season 18 World Poker Tour Asia-Pacific WPTDeepStacks Philippines PHP 75,000 (~$1,500) Main Event kicks off at the stunning Okada Manila. The picturesque oceanfront  five-star resort in Parañaque City hosts the third-ever WPT festival on the Philippines for the first time and saw Day 1a attract a field of 126 entries, of which 24 players bagged up chips for Day 2 already.

All those that were not as fortunate or are unhappy with their stack sizes are expected to return to the tables as of noon local time when the second and final starting day gets underway to take a shot at the guaranteed prize pool of PHP 12 Million.

The participants receive 30,000 in chips and the late registration is available for the first nine levels and following break, furthermore, a single re-entry is also available during the registration period and 17 contenders took advantage of that option on Day 1a. There will be a 10-minute break every three levels and poker enthusiasts from near and far can join the action until approximately 6.30 p.m. local time.

The tournament is played in the big blind ante format and the single ante will be posted by the player in the big blind, in the amount equivalent to the big blind. Ante is posted before the big blind and players are eligible to collect the entire ante, even when out of the big blind.

Day 1b will wrap up around 10 p.m. local time, giving all players the chance to attend the WPT Player’s Party at Okada Manila as of midnight before then returning for Day 2 the following day when the tournament is scheduled to play down to the final table with levels of 60 minutes each.

Expected to join the action are the Season 18 WPT Asia-Pacific leaderboard contenders Hamish Crawshaw, Jae Kyung Sim and Si Yang Phua, as well as the first-ever WSOP bracelet winner of the Philippines Mike Takayama, Super High Roller Champion Ngoc Anh Cao and WPT Champions Club member Pete Chen, among others.
