De Vries Crippled

On a [5d][5c][3c] flop Rien De Vries checks from the big blind, Kimmo Kurko leads for 31,000 from the hijack and Cristian Mihu calls on the button. De Vries moves his entire stack into the middle and Kurko reshoves after around 45-seconds deliberating. Mihu folds and the cards are shown down.

“I hope I have eight outs,” says De Vries as he turns over [Tc][9c].

“Oh s$$t!” says De Vries when he sees Kurko’s [Ac][6c]

The flush draw does not come in as the turn and river are the [Jd] and [Jh] respectively and Kurko doubles up, leaving De Vries with around 60,000 chips.
